Only well-trained development experts can ensure attainment of UN SDGs for Nigeria

President of the Chartered Institute of Development Studies and Administration of Nigeria, CIDSAN, Dr Elijah Ogbuokiri has posited that efforts by government and relevant stakeholders for sustainable social and economic growth could yield the desired result with professionally equipped experts given the opportunity to play their expected roles.

Dr Ogbuokiri, who made the assertion at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, blamed the poor management of Nigeria’s development efforts on the paucity of well-equipped development experts.

According to him, while many nations of the world are already redirecting their development efforts towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, Nigeria is still grappling with the idea.
